hSoftware Garmin Connect IQ Apps

We received a report from a customer that was getting an error on the Connect Web site when attempting to edit a leg of a multisport activity. After some investigation, the problem was traced to a session message that had a developer field that has a null FieldDescriptionMesg on the fieldDefinition. The customer said that they were using the Step Session and Goal Recorder link by hSoftware app when they recorded this activity, so this is just a courtesy message to make you aware that there is a possibility your app is writing a “bad” FIT file containing missing data that you may want to investigate. It’s up to you to decide whether any action needs to be taken on your part.

We’re making some changes on our side to handle this kind of problem more gracefully on the Garmin Connect web site, as well.
